Amid growing outcry over a homeless man's fatal beating, a Fullerton, Calif., city councilwoman is pressuring the city manager to seek the police chief's resignation.
Councilmember Sharon Quirk-Silva has said publicly she believes the resignation of Chief Michael Sellers would help the investigation into the beating go more smoothly.
Mayor Richard Jones has countered the he's concerned about a rush to judgment in the case and wants to resist a response he likened to a "lynch type of mob."
