Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said he is "appalled" at the news that a top city administrator was the target of an FBI probe leading to his arrest during a child-porn sting.
Villaraigosa, who said he "doesn't have a lot of facts on this case," said he was surprised to learn about the arrest of Albert Abrams, who has resigned as president of the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Abrams said a tumor on his spine caused "behaviors that were completely out of character." Abrams had earlier told KCBS the tumor caused his sudden interest in graphic images of children. He said the tumor created a split personality that downloaded the images, reports the Daily News.
