Federal prosecutors charged an AWOL Army soldier today with plotting to blow up a restaurant in Kileen, Texas, that is frequently patronized by soliders from Fort Hood.
During his first court appearance, Naser Jason Abdo, 21, yelled "Nidal Hasan Ft. Hood 2009!" It was a defiant reference to the Army major and psychiatrist charged with killing 13 people in a rampage at the base in 2009.
Abdo, like Hasan, said he opposed the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan because they are against his Muslim beliefs.
