Point Blank Enterprises and Protective Products Enterprises introduced several body armor products here at SHOT Show 2012, following the company's merger earlier this year.

Sun Capital Partners acquired the assets of Point Blank, which included the PACA body armor brand, in a $36.6 million deal Oct. 28 that brought Point Blank out of Chapter 11. Sun Capital owned body armor company Protective Products and Paraclete, a tactical gear brand.

"Our teams have come together to bring to market, the most advanced ballistic systems the industry has seen and I believe, the best is still yet to come," said Mark Smith, vice president of sales and marketing. "We remain committed to providing our customers with not only the best life-saving solutions, but the support and service they have grown to depend on."

The combined company introduced several ballistic armor packages for tactical officers, female officers and patrol duty.

The new offerings included new ballistic armor packages rated at Level IIA, II and IIIA from the four brands that are lighter weight and meet multiple domestic standards and testing requirements set forth by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) in Standard-0101.06, the FBI, and Drug Enforcement Agency. Multiple systems have also been developed to meet combined ballistic and stab protection mandates.

The latest Level II packages weigh 0.67 pounds per square feet and are 0.19 inches thick.

Redesigned concealable carriers from Point Blank and PACA featured two distinct design options, specially engineered to provide greater comfort and optimal coverage for female officers. The updated Smart Seama shelf construction design ergonomically supports the natural curvature of the female form. The Tru-Fit design provides a more contoured shape with a flexible structure.

Protective Products' Female Trilhouette Series incorporates a unique three-piece panel technology to provide a form-fitting front panel, resulting in a safe, reliable, and comfortable concealable vest.

The RAM-1 (Rapid Assault Mission) tactical armor system from Point Blank is designed for response teams who require load-bearing capabilities during rapid assaults, according to the company.

Point Blank's redesigned Dragon Fire System (Gen II) brings additional features to this side-opening tactical armor system that include a shoulder protection system and additional plate pocket options for maximum protective coverage in the front, back, side and biceps.

The Hornet from Protective Products is the law enforcement version of the U.S.M.C. Modular Tactical Vest (MTV) and provides 360-degree load-bearing capability in a two-point emergency release system. This modular vest is fully adjustable and can adapt to any tactical mission within seconds by adding collar, throat, bicep, groin and lower back protection.
