N.Y. Sheriff's K-9 Dies In Building Search

Niagara County Sheriff's Deputy Craig Beiter and Rocky were searching St. Mary's Hospital in Niagara Falls on Sunday, when Rocky jumped over a over a three-foot retaining wall and fell about 60 feet to his death.

The Niagara County (N.Y.) Sheriff's Office lost one of its K-9 dogs, while officers were searching an abandoned hospital for a reported burglar.

Deputy Craig Beiter and Rocky were searching St. Mary's Hospital in Niagara Falls on Sunday, when Rocky jumped over a over a three-foot retaining wall and fell about 60 feet to his death, reports WIVB-TV.

Authorities later arrested Marcus Johnson, 24, of Buffalo. Police said he admitted that he and others had entered the building to steal copper.
