Jury Recommends Death for Tampa Cop Killer

A jury has recommended death for Humberto Delgado Jr., who was convicted of first-degree murder in the killing of Tampa Police Cpl. Mike Roberts. Jurors convicted Delgado of all four counts of murder earlier in the week.

A jury has recommended death for Humberto Delgado Jr., who was convicted of first-degree murder in the killing of Tampa Police Cpl. Mike Roberts.

Jurors on Friday voted 8-4 in favor of the death penalty, after convicting Delgado of all four counts of murder on Tuesday. Judge Emmett Lamar Battles must now make a ruling, giving the recommendation great weight, according to state law.
