N.J. Cop Killed In DWI Crash
Mount Arlington (N.J.) Police officer Joseph Wargo was killed when a drunk driver traveling at a high rate of speed collided into his patrol car. Officer Wargo, 38, was on patrol when he was struck while driving east on Route 80 at about 1 a.m. Sunday.

Officer Wargo, 38, was on patrol when he was struck while driving east on Route 80 at about 1 a.m. The officer was struck by Michael Cassella, 29, who was intoxicated and driving west when he lost control of his Mitsubishi Lancer, crossed the median, and slammed into Wargo's marked car.
Officer Wargo, a 10-year agency veteran, was president of the local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 78 in Mount Arlington.
Mount Arlington Police Chief Keith Licata said of Wargo: "Joe was a fun-loving guy with a heart of gold. He would help anybody and he was a very dedicated police officer."
