University of Pittsburgh personnel, starting today, will check all buildings before allowing anyone to enter, as well as require identification for entry. The measures are in response to recent bomb threats targeting campus buildings.
University of Pittsburgh personnel, starting today, will check all buildings before allowing anyone to enter, as well as require identification for entry. The measures are in response to recent bomb threats targeting campus buildings.
Since Feb. 13, the university has received threats via E-mail or written in bathrooms targeting 40 buildings on campus, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Reviewreports. The threats were received on Saturday after officials announced an increased police and security presence targeted nine university buildings.
Only Pitt dormitory residents will be allowed in residence halls and book bags, backpacks and packages will be banned from campus buildings, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
