An anonymous tip led the SCPA to the severely emaciated and dehydrated German shepherd Ingo, who weighed 55 pounds or about 25 pounds less than a healthy dog.

A Watsonville (Calif.) Police officer will face misdemeanor charges after the SPCA of Monterey County rescued his emaciated former K-9 from his yard.

An anonymous tip led the SCPA to the severely emaciated and dehydrated German shepherd Ingo, who weighed 55 pounds or about 25 pounds less than a healthy dog, reports the Silicon Valley Mercury News.

Ingo was found at the home of former Officer Francisco Ibarra, who was fired in 2010 "for cause."
