Ohio Police Department Shuts Down

City administrators shut down the Mount Sterling (Ohio) Police Department, after an officer used a TASER on a 9-year-old boy earlier this month.

Embattled Chief Mike McCoy, the only full-time officer, had been suspended and several part-time officers were no longer working on Friday. McCoy's decision not to tell village administrators about the incident prompted his suspension, officials told the  Columbus Dispatch .

The village also declined to release details about the incident, which apparently began when the boy refused to go to school.
