A former Payette County, Idaho, sheriff's deputy will face vehicular manslaughter charges stemming from the death of a man in an October crash.
Dep. Scott Sloan, 31, was responding to a 911 call from a child that a stranger was in his home when he struck a Jeep driven by Barry Johnson, 65, on U.S. 30. Johnson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, reports the Idaho Statesman .
