As corrections deputies brought Jose C. Santiago, 30, into a Springfield District courtroom, Edwin Rojas, 46, and Kenneth Soto, 42, lunged at Santiago. One of the men is immediately detained before reaching Santiago, while the second man can be seen punching the defendant.
Santiago is accused of fatally stabbing Jessica Rojas, 25, at 3:15 a.m. Saturday in Springfield's North End. Just a few hours earlier, Rojas had celebrated her 25th birthday with family and friends at a nightclub, reports Mass Live.
