Man Charged In Killing of S.C. Officer, Girlfriend

Master Cpl. Sandy Rogers, 48, a 27-year veteran of the force, was fatally shot while investigating a suspicious vehicle in an Aiken park about 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

A suspect is in custody for the murder of an Aiken (S.C.) Department of Public Safety officer who was shot to death Saturday morning, reports the Post and Courier.

Joshua Tremaine Jones, 26, was arrested Saturday night in a Batesburg-Leesville home, hours after the shooting was reported near a local park. Jones is also suspected of killing his pregnant girlfriend, Cayce Vice.
