Honolulu Police Officer Killed In Fiery Crash

A Honolulu Police officer was killed Saturday, after stopping to help a couple who had been stranded on the H-1 freeway.

A Honolulu Police officer was killed Saturday, after stopping to help a couple who had been stranded on the H-1 freeway.

Officer Garret Davis, 28, had pulled over his patrol car and activated his blue lights. Before he was able to get out of the patrol car, a Chevy Silverado struck his car and sent it into the stalled vehicle. The officer's car caught fire.

The driver of the Silverado was arrested for investigation of negligent homicide, after he was released from the hospital, reports the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
