On May 26, Rudy Eugene, 31, stripped off the clothes of Ronald Poppo, 65, on the Miami causeway in a daylight attack that was partially captured by a surveillance camera. Following the attack, the president of the Miami police union speculated that the attack was caused by the synthetic drugs.
The medical examiner found no evidence of the common components of "bath salts" in Eugene's system. Nor did the lab find evidence of synthetic marijuana or LSD, reports the Miami Herald .
