A Philadelphia police officer who recently graduated from the academy fought off a robbery suspect who attacked him with his own baton, forcing the officer to shoot the man.
A Philadelphia police officer who recently graduated from the academy fought off a robbery suspect who attacked him with his own baton, forcing the officer to shoot the man.
Newly released cell phone video of the incident that occurred earlier this month shows the intense struggle between the officer and the suspect.
In the video, the suspect appears to attack the officer in the open door of a minivan and reach for the officer's weapon. The suspect appears to grab the officer's baton and begin striking the officer, who pulls away and eventually shoots the suspect.
The suspect was arrested and the officer has not been identified, reports MyFoxPhiladelphia.
