Mariah Grant posted "Little Girl Saving Her Daddy" on Monday, reports Fox 59. In the 4-minute video, Grant can be seen holding up notecards saying that her father, Officer Jamie Grant, has always dreamt of being a cop.
On Thursday, the City Council discussed a budget that calls for the elimination of seven officers and 20 firefighters, reports the Herald Bulletin. Dozens of residents protested the cuts, including Kristian Grant, Mariah's mother, who gathered 1,400 signatures opposing the layoffs.
Officer Grant has served the agency for two years.
