7 Charged In Shootings of Deputies

Seven people have been charged in the deadly shootings of two Louisiana sheriff's deputies in LaPlace. Five suspects have been booked, and two others remain hospitalized.

Seven people have been charged in the deadly shootings of two Louisiana sheriff's deputies in LaPlace.

The Louisiana State Police announced charges against the seven suspects, who are being charged in the shooting of St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's deputy Michael Scott Boyington, who survived. Deputies Brandon Nielsen and Jeremy Triche were killed while investigating the shooting of deputy Boyington. Deputy Jason Triche was wounded.

Five suspects have been booked, and two others remain hospitalized.

Derrick D. Smith, 22 has been charged with principal to attempted first degree murder of a police officer. His bail was set at $750,000.

Terry Lynn Smith, 44, has been charged with principal to attempted first degree murder of a police officer. His bail was set at $750,000.

Teniecha Teniel Bright, 21, has been charged with principal to attempted first degree murder of a police officer. Her bail was set at $750,000.

Britney Keith, 23, has been charged with accessory to attempted first degree murder of a police officer. Her bail was set at $350,000.

Chanel Melissa Skains, 37, has been charged with accessory to attempted first degree murder of a police officer. Her bail was set at $350,000.

Brian Lyn Smith, 24, has been charged with attempted first degree murder of a police officer. He remains hospitalized.

Kyle David Joekel, 28, has been charged with attempted first degree murder of a police officer. He remains hospitalized.
