A Cleveland Police officer assigned to President Barack Obama's protection detail suffered a medical emergency on duty and later died, the agency told POLICE Magazine.
Officer Marcia Figueroa collapsed at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport after reporting for a protective detail for Air Force One and President Barack Obama during a campaign visit.
Officer Figueroa, a 14-year veteran, died Sunday at University Hospital. Flags are being flown at half-staff today in her honor.
"We are all truly saddened by her sudden passing," according to a department statement. "Marcia will be missed."
