NYPD Braces for Superstorm Sandy

The New York Police Department has mobilized its 35,000 officers as emergency responders in preparation for the arrival of Superstorm Sandy by extending shifts, positioning motor and non-motor boats in various precincts, and dispatching special teams for rescue duty.

Commissioner Ray Kelly told CBS News he is most concerned about flooding of subway and transit tunnels and urged New Yorkers to evacuate if they have received those instructions.
