The camp ranger carjacked by fugitive ex-cop Chris Dorner has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court claiming his call to a sheriff's deputy entitles him to a $1 million reward.
Rick Heltebrake filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit, reports the Associated Press. Heltebrake called the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department after Dorner ordered him and his dog out of his truck on Feb. 12. Dorner then fled to a mountain cabin where he engaged deputies in a final shootout.
The LAPD has said three judges will decide whether and how to distribute the reward. A couple kidnapped by Dorner in their cabin have also laid claim to the reward.
