A Dallas County grand jury has indicted two Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on criminal charges stemming from a roadside cavity search of two north Texas women in July.
Trooper Kelly Helleson has been charged with two counts of official oppression and two counts of sexual assault. She searched Angel and Ashley Dobbs at the request of Trooper David Farrell, who has been charged with two counts of official oppression and two counts of sexual assault. Farrell also allegedly stole a bottle of hydrocodone from the women's car while searching for marijuana, reports CBS DFW.
Helleson, who was recorded on dash cam searching the women vaginally and anally, was fired in January. Farrell was suspended.
The women filed a lawsuit in December, claiming the troopers conducted a non-consensual search of their vehicle. No drugs were found.
