A Canton (Mich.) Police officer is being credited with saving the life of a suicidal man who was perched on a bridge ready to jump.
Dispatchers send the officer to the Joy Road overpass above Interstate 275 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday after reports of a man leaning over the bridge rail, reports the Observer and Eccentric.
When the man saw the officer approach him, he put down his phone and stepped onto the rail. The officer got closer and lunged toward the man to grab his coat and pull him to safety.
The incident was captured on the officer's patrol car video system, reports WDIV.
