A Beaufort County (S.C.) Sheriff's deputy subdued a handcuffed suspect who attacked his patrol car and lunged at the deputy on Saturday.

The deputy caught up with Justin Chin, 23, at a convenience store on Hilton Head Island shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday. Chin was wanted by the Bluffton Police Department for an earlier assault and battery charge, according to the police report.

While in the back of the patrol car, Chin began cursing officers and kicking the window and rear protective bars of the cruiser. When the deputy opened the door, Chin lunged at him. He put Chin in a headlock, hip tossed him to the ground and put him in leg restraints.

Chin caused about $400 in damage to the vehicle, the deputy wrote in his report.
