The Worcester (Mass.) Police chief issued a public plea to state and federal officials to help bury accused terrorist Tamerlan Tsarnaev to rescue his agency from a $10,000 a day cost of providing security for a funeral home.
Chief Gary Gemme told reporters Wednesday that the city has "no immediate prospects" for burying Tsarnaev. The department's officers have been providing around-the-clock security for Graham Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors, reports the Boston Herald.
The Department of Correction has offered a prison cemetery plot but pulled that offer.
