Police caught the man suspected of killing five people in Terrell, Texas, early this morning, reports DallasNews.com. Charles Everett Brownlow Jr., 36, was found about 1:30 a.m. after an intensive manhunt following a night of multiple slayings in this town east of Dallas.
Authorities started searching for Brownlow after a woman's burned body was found in the man's home. Both Brownlow and his Ford Focus were missing, and it appeared that the woman's death was linked to that of a woman found shot in the head not far away earlier that evening.
Later, someone reported shots fired and a man matching Brownlow's description was spotted leaving driving a Ford Focus.
Soon after, a couple was found shot to death in their nearby home. Then a man was found dead in a convenience store, and someone was seen fleeing in a Ford Focus. The driver escaped on foot into a wooded area. Brownlow was arrested after being found in the woods near the convenience store.
The Texas Rangers and the Kaufman County (Texas) Sheriff's Office helped with the investigation.
