The ATF agent who blew the whistle on the agency's failed Fast and Furious gun tracking operation told Fox News he'll publish a book about his experiences over the agency's objections.
Agent John Dodson had attempted to stop the operation internally and then went to Congress and eventually the media after the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. Two guns found at the murder scene were sold through the operation that sold guns to Mexican drug cartels.
Dodson submitted "The Unarmed Truth" for review to the agency, which denied him permission to publish it. Dodson claims his First Amendment free-speech rights have been violated while the ATF says it can deny him compensation for outside employment.
The book is scheduled for publication on Jan. 14, according to Simon and Schuster.
