A second Metropolitan (D.C.) Police officer was hit by gunfire during last week's shooting rampage at the Washington Navy Yard, Chief Cathy Lanier said Tuesday.
During her monthly appearance on NewsChannel 8's "NewsTalk" show, Lanier said a second officer was struck by two rounds in the chest, but his ballistic vest saved his life.
Officer Scott Williams, a 23-year veteran, was hit twice in the legs and remains hospitalized. She expects him to be released this week, reports the Washington Post.
