The National Law Enforcement Museum announced its next panel discussion series, Witness to History: The Investigation of Robert Hanssen, will take place on Oct. 1 at the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C.
The event will focus on ex-FBI agent and Russian spy, Robert Hanssen, who sold high-level U.S. secrets to the former Soviet Union and Russia for more than 20 years. Hanssen was arrested in 2001 and convicted of espionage due to the collective efforts of the FBI, CIA, Department of State, and the Justice Department.
There will be a panel of experts with firsthand knowledge about the case including Mike Rochford, retired FBI section chief of Russian Overseas Espionage and David Wise, author of "Spy: The Inside Story of How the FBI's Robert Hanssen Betrayed America."
The event kicks off with a reception at 6 p.m. with the discussion to follow from 6:45 to 8 p.m.
Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Attendees must register online by September 27.
