A Philadelphia Police officer is expected to fully recover, after a suspect shot him in the abdomen during a vehicle stop on Tuesday.
Officer Edward Davies is out of surgery and in critical but stable condition. He will likely undergo a second surgery, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Officer Davies, a six-year veteran, was allegedly wounded by Eric Torres, 31. The officer as pulled over Torres and chased him into a corner store at 4th and Annsbury streets. Torres, who has a lengthy criminal record back to 2004, was taken into custody after the shooting.
