Montgomery County (Tenn.) Sheriff’s Deputy David "Bubba" Johnson was killed in a single-car accident while on duty yesterday, reports clarksvilleonline.com.

Deputy Johnson was traveling on Ashland City Road (41-A Bypass) when his patrol car left the roadway at approximately 11:20 p.m.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation at this time.
