One Tupelo, Miss., officer was killed and another was wounded responding to a bank robbery on Tuesday.

Officer Kevin "Gale" Stauffer, 38, was killed during a robbery at BancorpSouth Monday. Officer Joseph Maher, 27, was injured and was at last check in critical condition, WAAY TV reports.

Authorities are looking for a man said to be about 5-feet-9 to 6-feet tall, thin, with light complexion, possibly African-American. He also might be heavily armed. Authorities said he may be injured and may be left-handed.

The suspect—there may have been more than one robber—is still at large. The Associated Press reports that a $162,500 reward is being offered by BancorpSouth and other businesses for information related to the shootings and the robbery.
