Data recovered from a portable GPS that belonged to Newtown shooter Adam Lanza shows that he was in the vicinity of the Sandy Hook Elementary School for 23 minutes the day before the Dec. 14 massacre in which he killed 20 first graders and six adults, the Hartford Courant reports.
The data was discovered on a portable GPS device that was found in Lanza's home after the shooting, according to the 48-page summary report released Monday by Danbury State's Attorney Stephen Sedensky. The report stated that Lanza did not go directly to the school but was in the vicinity.
Sedensky concluded that "there was no evidence to suggest that anyone other than the shooter was aware of or involved in the planning and execution of the crimes that were committed on December 14, 2012, at Sandy Hook Elementary School."
