Late Tuesday, the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Police Protective League approved a tentative contract proposal covering more than 9,900 LAPD officers. The next step of the process is for the League to take the tentative agreement to the membership for a ratification vote.

“We have concluded negotiations for a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) replacing the previous MOU that expired June 30, 2014. The dates and times for ratifications are being arranged, and the details of the tentative agreement will be presented and fully discussed at those sessions with our members,” said Tyler Izen, president of the Los Angeles Police Protective League.

“While small bits of information about the contract were leaked by City Hall to the media, the information is incomplete and misleading,” Izen said. “The League decided against granting interviews yesterday because it is our belief that our membership should hear the complete details about the MOU from the League, not the media. We are disappointed that someone at City Hall thought otherwise. Pursuant to the terms of the negotiations process and our commitment to our membership, the LAPPL will not disclose the terms of the tentative agreement pending ratification.”
