VIDEO: Virginia Officer Shoots Teen
A Purcellville (Va.) police officer shot a 17-year-old boy who lunged at him with a knife Saturday afternoon, state police said.
Inside NoVa is reporting that town police received a 911 call at 2:12 p.m. on Saturday, reporting a teen threatening suicide at a home in the 100 block of Frazer Drive. When an officer arrived, the teenager lunged at him with the knife and was shot.
Virginia State Police -- who are investigating the case -- say 17-year-old Christian Sierra was shot after police in Purcellville received a call for help because he was threatening suicide.
Police told the Associated Press that when an officer arrived and approached Sierra, he lunged at the officer with a knife and was shot. He was then taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
