Video: L.A. Sheriff's Deputy Injured in Long Beach Shootout
An L.A. Sheriff's deputy is recovering after being shot in the stomach on Monday during a shootout. The suspect was shot and killed by deputies.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy is in stable condition after undergoing surgery following an officer-involved shooting in Long Beach Monday.
The unidentified male deputy was shot at Long Beach Boulevard at 69th Street in north Long Beach, a quarter-mile north of Artesia Boulevard and just south of Compton shortly after 10 a.m., Sheriff's officials told CBS News Los Angeles .
The suspect, who was killed in the altercation, was reportedly on a bicycle and refused to pull over when the two deputies, on routine patrol, attempted to stop him.
"(The suspect) was armed with a semi-automatic weapon," L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. Spokesperson Nicole Nishida said. "There was a fight that ensued, and he attempted to grab one of the deputies' guns."
