VIDEO: Minivan Seriously Injures Maryland Officer, Hits 3 Patrol Cars
A Prince George's County (Md.) Police officer suffered serious injuries after he was struck by a minivan while conducting a traffic stop in Forestville Thursday morning.
According to police, the officer was conducting a traffic stop on northbound Pennsylvania Avenue near Walters Lane just before 9 a.m.
"...[T]wo other officers come to back up that original officer, which is standard operating procedure, and they notice a minivan coming off the road right at them," Prince George's Police spokeswoman Julie Parker told NBC Washington.
Parker said two of the officers were able to jump out of the way, but the third officer was struck by the minivan. The minivan also struck all three police cruisers.
The injured officer was airlifted from the scene. He is listed in fair condition.
