Iowa Officer Shot in Face by Suicidal Suspect
Jill Ohm, 37, was shot in the face Friday afternoon when she responded to a disturbance call with a possible suicidal subject in the 1600 block of West Third Street.

A Sioux City, Iowa, police officer wounded in the line of duty is still hospitalized at Mercy Medical Center.
Jill Ohm, 37, was shot in the face Friday afternoon when she responded to a disturbance call with a possible suicidal subject in the 1600 block of West Third Street. While on the call, she encountered Noah Ironshell, 27, who shot her once and fled, according to police reports.
Ironshell was located several hours later at an abandoned residence in the 1500 block of West Third Street with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, the Sioux City Journal reports.
He is hospitalized at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He was listed in critical condition late Sunday night. No update was available Monday. Charges have not been filed.
Sioux City police Lt. Mark Kirkpatrick said Ohm is receiving treatment for her injuries. No further details on her condition were available late Monday.
