A Cincinnati Police officer and a fire official were struck while responding to accidents on Ronald Reagan Highway early Saturday morning.
Jeff Share, a Cincinnati Police officer, was responding to the scene of an overturned vehicle just before 8 a.m. when he was hit, authorities say.
Jennifer Bowman, 36, was driving westbound on the highway when she lost control of her car and it flipped, police say.
Share was attempting to free Bowman from the overturned vehicle when he was struck by a second driver, DeJuan Carpenter, 36, who lost control of his car on the icy roads, police told Cincinnati.com. Share was briefly pinned between the vehicle and the retaining wall on Ronald Reagan Highway.
Share and Bowman were both transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Carpenter was also transported to Mercy Franciscan Hospital.
