Streamlight Inc., provider of high-performance lighting, has introduced the Double Clutch USB, a compact, low-profile LED headlamp that is USB rechargeable, with optional battery back-up. The new light features both spot and flood beams -- for either distance or close-up lighting needs -- and provides high and low intensity settings for each beam mode.

"We designed the Double Clutch USB to give users beam, battery, and brightness options, while maximizing run time and minimizing weight," said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. "The light's battery pack has a USB port that offers convenient recharging, and there is also an option for back-up batteries. In short, it's the ideal lighting tool, whether for industrial jobs like pest control or equipment repairs, automotive inspections, EMS operations, or hunting and other outdoor sports."

The headlamp also provides maximum comfort and stability, with its low-profile construction and optimized gravity center, and a 60-degree tilting head to reduce neck fatigue. The new light also features a "glove friendly," easily rotated face cap for shifting between modes, and turning the light on and off.

Powered by a white C4 LED with both spot and flood beams, the Double Clutch USB offers amazing brightness for its size, delivering 125 lumens on the high setting in both beam modes. The flood mode is designed for working at arm's length, while the spot mode is ideal for distance lighting applications. Runtime is 3.5 hours on the high setting and 10 hours on low for both modes.

The Double Clutch USB uses a lithium polymer battery pack that can be charged either inside or outside the light, and also accepts three AAA alkaline or lithium batteries. The locking mechanism opens easily for recharging and replacing batteries, but prevents the body from popping open if dropped.

Weighing only 4 ounces with the lithium polymer battery, the headlamp measures 1.75 inches long and 2.5 inches wide. The light features durable polymer construction, is IPX4 rated for water-resistance, and is impact-resistance tested to 2 meters.

Available in yellow or black, the headlamp comes with both an adjustable elastic head strap and a rubber hard hat strap.

The MSRP for the Double Clutch USB headlamp ranges from $75 to $100 based on the model, and includes Streamlight's Limited Lifetime Warranty.
