Illinois Man Captured, Held on $1M Bond in Shooting of 2 Deputies

Scott Peters, the alleged gunman accused of shooting two McHenry County, Ill., sheriff's deputies, is being held on $1 million bond after he appeared in court Friday, reports WLS-TV .

Peters, a 52-year-old military veteran, is charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm in connection with the shooting of two McHenry County sheriff's deputies .

Peters disappeared after the shooting, sparking a massive manhunt until he was arrested 15 hours later in Crystal Lake.

Sheriff's Deputy Khalia Satkiewicz, 39, is in good condition after sustaining gunshot wounds to the leg. Sheriff's Deputy Dwight Maness, 46, was shot in the abdomen and the leg but is in stable condition.
