Arizona DPS Officer Seriously Injured in Crash with Semi

An Arizona Department of Public Safety officer had to be extricated from his patrol vehicle after a crash that involved a tractor-trailer rig.

An Arizona Department of Public Safety officer was injured this morning in a crash that involved a tractor-trailer rig in the eastbound lanes of I-10, reports the Arizona Daily Star.

The officer was trapped in his patrol SUV, but was extricated and has been upgraded from serious but stable condition to good condition at the hospital, DPS officials said.

A K-9 in the patrol vehicle was not injured, and the driver of the rig is believed to be uninjured.
