The Albuquerque Police Department has confirmed that one of their officers had a medical episode and died during a training event near University and Indian School on Thursday.
Police officials told KRQE TV officers were gathered for a role-play training when one of them suffered a catastrophic medical event. Officers began performing CPR, police say, and a medical director from the Albuquerque Fire Department also guided additional emergency procedures. The officer was transported to UNMH and police say he succumbed to the medical episode.
