A Big Rapids, Mich., man has been charged with trying to murder two local police officers. Wesley Snyder was charged for 12 crimes, including two counts of assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, resisting an officer -- and much more.
It all happened Friday, January 16. Big Rapids police were following up on an assault at Apple Ridge Apartments. During the investigation, officers approached Snyder's door. When officers opened the door, Snyder had a bow and arrow pointed at them. They ducked when Snyder shot.
When Snyder missed, he charged at the officers and began fighting with them. Snyder had a knife on his belt, but did not use it in the attack, 9 and 10 News reports.
One officer and Snyder fell down the stairs in the struggle. That's when Snyder put his finger's in the officer's eye.
The other officer tased Snyder multiple times. Both officers were able to handcuff and arrest Snyder.
One officer suffered a minor eye injury during the incident.
