VIDEO: Former South Carolina Officer Indicted for Fatal Shooting, Could Get Life
Charleston County (S.C.) Solicitor Scarlett Wilson on Monday announced that a state Grand Jury has indicted a former North Charleston police officer for murder.
The officer’s attorney Andy Savage said in a statement Monday afternoon that his office is still waiting on discovery information from prosecutors.
"The Grand Jury is a formal step, but just another step in the criminal process. Until we have an opportunity to fully evaluate the State's case and to compare it with our own investigation we will not be commenting on any aspect of the case," Savage told WCIV TV.
Wilson said Monday the officer faces 30 years to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
