Police in Massachusetts offered some words of wisdom Monday night: Getting drunk and chasing bears through the woods with a dull hatchet is "not advised."
The North Adams Police Department posted on Facebook that a "Davy Crockett" wannabe was taken into "protective custody" after police found him chasing a bear through the woods with a hatchet, USA Today reports.
"Yes that really did happen tonight," the police department statement said.
"The North Adams Police Department is urging everyone to NOT chase bears through the woods with a dull hatchet, drunk," the post said.
The police department said they were still trying to figure out what "the hatchet man" planned to do once he caught the bear.
