In preparation for Police Week 2015, The Safariland Group is pleased to recognize Officers Andrew Taylor and Garret Osilka who will be riding in the Police Unity Tour from May 9–12 toward the Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. As officers who were once shot while protecting our communities, Officer Taylor and Osilka will embark on this emotional 250-mile fundraising bike ride as they honor their brothers and sisters who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Officer Taylor, Safariland Group SAVE #997, was saved by the company's body armor in 2007. He is a 20-year veteran of the LAPD and currently works in the Foothill Division. His fellow rider, Officer Garret Osilka, SAVE #1885, is a member of the Loveland Police Department in Colorado, where he lives with his wife and family. You can follow their stories on The Safariland Group Facebook page.

The Police Unity Tour is an awareness and fundraising bicycle ride in support of law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The 250-mile, four-day ride begins in Portsmouth, Virginia and ends in Washington D.C. at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. In 2014, more than 1,800 members participated and raised more than $1.9 million dollars to support the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF).

National Police Week takes place each year in Washington, D.C. to pay tribute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. The series of events is attended by tens of thousands of law enforcement officers and their families leading up to Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15.

The Safariland Group SAVES Club recognizes a group of individuals who, during the line of duty, experienced a life-threatening incident where their armor or gear made by The Safariland Group contributed to saving their lives. For more information, visit www.Safariland.com/saves-posts.
