Washington State K-9 Stabbed to Death by Wanted Suspect

A Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman said the suspect ran away and was tracked down hiding in bushes by K-9 officer Ike. The dog bit the suspect, but the man stabbed the dog.

A Vancouver, Wash., police K-9 has died from injuries he suffered when he was stabbed by a wanted man on Tuesday.

A Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman said the suspect ran away and was tracked down hiding in bushes by K-9 officer Ike.

The dog bit the suspect, but the man stabbed the dog.

Ike was rushed to Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital , police said, but he did not survive his injuries.

The suspect, who has been identified as Jacky Chan Karuo, 25, was taken into custody after officers used a stun gun, KPTV reports.

Karuo was taken to Clark County Jail and booked on Assault IV DV, Harming a Police Dog and Criminal Impersonation I.
