A Los Angeles police officer and three unidentified people were credited Friday with rescuing a man from a car that crashed on the 110 Freeway near Harbor Gateway and saving his life with CPR.
Sgt. Robin Petillo of the department’s Southeast Division encountered a five-car crash Monday while driving south approaching the 405 Freeway. When she stopped to help, she saw a man unconscious in his car. Three people helped her pry open the mangled door, but she found he was not breathing and was without a heartbeat.
