Streamlight Inc., provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices for law enforcement, announced today it raised nearly $3,200 in proceeds from the first annual Streamlight 5K for Concerns for Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) July 8 in Upper Providence, Pa.

More than 120 runners and walkers, including many Streamlight employees, took part in the event to benefit C.O.P.S., which supports families and colleagues of fallen police officers. The run was organized by several Streamlight employees, in conjunction with area police departments. Sponsors of the race in addition to Streamlight included Grainger, OfficerStore.com, Mac Tools, Cabela's, and Wegmans Food Markets.

Streamlight, a long-time supporter of C.O.P.S., helps to sponsor the organization's annual observances during National Police Week, as well as to help underwrite C.O.P.S. retreats, camps, and other activities for surviving loved ones and co-workers that are held throughout the year.

"We support C.O.P.S. because so many law enforcement professionals put their trust in our products in the line of duty, and we want to give something back to the profession," said Streamlight Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. "As with the other C.O.P.S. activities we sponsor, the proceeds from this run will contribute to the organization's invaluable work in helping fallen officers' survivors and colleagues rebuild their lives."

Streamlight also sponsors several annual C.O.P.S. Walks throughout the U.S., which bring together survivors, friends, and members of the law enforcement community and challenge them to walk 25 miles in two days to support C.O.P.S. and its mission.
